Art in Virtual Reality
Are you an artist between the ages of 13-18? Do you like Virtual Reality applications/games? If so MyKingstonKids and the UC Restorative Justice Center are offering the 2nd Series of a unique experience and ground breaking opportunity for 6 youth to participate in this free special Virtual Reality Art Class.
VR art is easily one of the best tools to expand your imagination. When creating virtual worlds students learn new skills like spatial thinking, changing perspective, or thinking beyond normal constraints. VR worlds have very adjustable settings. For example, there could be no physical limitations in an application, allowing students to build a house on a cloud or strict limitations such as realistic cities with parks, skyscrapers, and transportation systems. Virtual reality art can be an enjoyable activity helping students master new skills when building their own worlds or reflecting their favorite books, films, or whatever comes to mind.
This is an 8-week long program. 2 hours per class. Equipment and food will be provided on location.
This will be held at the UC Restorative Justice & Empowerment Center on Broadway in Kingston, NY. If COVID-19 restrictions prevent meeting in person this class will be held virtually. Students must register to participate. Space is limited.
