Children’s Christmas Eve Service & Supper
Children’s Christmas Eve Worship – 4:00 PM on December 24. Family-friendly, brief, peaceful, and joyful! Godly Play storytelling and Christmas carols, followed by a free supper.
This night is like no other night. It is a time to dream and sing your way to Bethlehem. You will tell the Christmas Story and sing Christmas carols together. Children will be invited to sit on the floor with the storyteller, where they may see the creche set and be close to the story. (Fidget toys, coloring, nativity stickers, and quiet toys will also be available at the back of the sanctuary if kids need to move around and be active.) At the end of the story, you will sing “Silent Night” and “Joy to the World” and light battery-operated candles. Following the service, they will offer a free, simple dinner for anyone who would like to stay. This is a brief service (about 25 minutes), intended to be welcoming to children and a moment of peace in a hectic time. Please join them!
** If you have food allergies and need a special meal for medical reasons, please send them a Facebook message or e-mail Pastor Rebecca at kids.saintjames@gmail.com by December 20. Thank you! **
Please note that they will also have a traditional 7:00 PM Service of Lessons and Carols on Christmas Eve.
Are you wondering where to park? They suggest parking at the church’s parking lot at 29 Pearl Street, Kingston, NY or at the Ulster County parking lot next door. Please enter the church through the new entrance off of their parking lot, which leads to an elevator. The building is wheelchair accessible.
