Catskill Ballet Theater Presents: The Nutcracker

Catskill Ballet Theatre Company (CBT) is thrilled to  announce its highly anticipated production of The Nutcracker, returning to the Ulster Performing  Arts Center (UPAC) stage for enchanting performances on December 13th, 14th, and 15th,  2024. The beloved holiday classic, which has become a tradition for generations of families and  school kids throughout the Hudson Valley, promises to bring the magic of the season to life.

Celebrating over 40 years of bringing heartfelt performances in the Hudson Valley, CBT  continues its mission to offer audiences the chance to enjoy classical ballet, while providing  local dancers with the unique experience of participating in professional productions with  professional dancers. The annual production of The Nutcracker is a heartfelt celebration of our  local dancers’ passion and hard work, dedicated to the joy and beauty of the season and the  rich art of dance.

“The entire CBT family is excited to bring The Nutcracker to our home at UPAC again this year,”  said Artistic Director Melissa Bierstock. “It’s a performance that not only embodies the spirit of  the holidays, but reflects the joy and commitment of our community to the arts and to each  other.”

This year CBT is excited to host internationally acclaimed performers, Seo Hye Han, current  principal dancer with Boston Ballet and John Lam, who retired from Boston Ballet this spring,  and founder of LamDanceWorks, in the leading roles of Sugar Plum Fairy and Cavalier.  Reprising their soloist roles are professional guest artists Sara Jumper, Ethan Schweitzer Gaslin and Patrick O’Neill.

Whether it’s your first time seeing the ballet or an annual tradition, the performance promises to  fill hearts with warmth and wonder.
