Old Rhinebeck Aerodrome Airshows & Museum's air shows entertain and educate. Be sure to go early or plan to stay late to see the Museum and take a biplane ride. There is a gift shop and a snack bar and the historic airplanes include the oldest regularly flying airplane in the Western Hemisphere; and the most famous fighter of WWI and even a replica of the Spirit of St. Louis, which was the first aircraft to fly NY to Paris in 1927.
On Saturday the “History of Flight” program highlights the Pioneer era before WWI, and the Golden Age of Aviation in the ’20s and ’30s.
The Sunday Show features a WWI dog fight spectacular with a hero, a heroine, and the evil Black Baron of Rhinebeck! There's also fireworks, a WWI tank and antique automobiles. Saturdays and Sundays from now through Oct 21.
