About Us

Welcome to MyKingstonKids!

MyKingstonKids, Inc. is a 501 (c) 3 Not-For-Profit organization that was created to assist parents in providing the children of Kingston, New York and beyond with the support needed to bring out the best in their kids as well as others. We believe this is done by providing our children with exciting activities, engaging & fun-loving events, interactive educational tools and appropriate entertainment.

As parents ourselves, we understand how a day can go with children of all ages. This is why we've developed a Not-For-Profit organization that would accommodate the opportunity to access your favorite Kingston events,  activities and content through multiple outlets. You are able to connect with MyKingstonKids through your desktop, tablet, mobile phone, local radio station and even outdoor events within the community.

Mission

Our mission is to create, promote, and produce children related content, activities, and events that will empower, educate and excite families within the Kingston and surrounding areas of Ulster County.

To become the leading resource center for children related content, activities, events, and programing utilizing radio, video, publishing, and online outlets within Kingston, New York.

A Bit About Our Founders

MyKingstonKids is the brainchild of two award winning entrepreneurs and Lace Mill residents, Shaniqua & Frank Waters. Shaniqua was the former CEO of Essential Request where she provided outstanding staffing and administrative services for small to medium sized businesses. She is also the founder and host of Nubian Cafe, which host live events and a weekly radio show that promotes African-American women in a positive light. Frank is an entrepreneur, author and community visionary who's responsible for projects such as Black History Month Kingston, The 1209 Affair and Red-K Apparel.

Under their leadership, MyKingstonKids has become a trendsetter and major influence on families within the Kingston and Ulster County communities. MyKingstonKids has been published in numerous newspapers and magazines for our outstanding community work. We are most known for our MyKingstonKids Fest events because they are exciting, inclusive and FREE.

"MyKingstonKids Media World Program"

We have most recently created our media training and mentoring program where we provide youth ages 12 -18 with the skill and knowledge to operate and manage various positions within our media outlets. These positions include all aspects of radio, video production, journalism, photography and marketing. We believe that children who are interested in these areas should have the opportunity to learn and experience them. Our goal is to mentor, educate, train, and hire students from within our community that are excited and interested about having the best life possible.
