About Black History Month Kingston

The A.J. Williams-Myers African Roots Library is proud to present the second year of Black History Month Kingston. Last year was historic and displayed the unified consciousness of the community of Kingston, New York. The African-American contributions were highlighted along with strategies of growth, awareness and celebration. With over 25 events city wide last year, 2019 is looking to have an increased amount of participation by at least 30 percent.

Our February Line-up for 2019 will have an outstanding collaboration of businesses, organizations, churches, community leaders and individuals working thru one vision and one heart. The community will be able to participate in engaging seminars/workshops, dances, art exhibits, plays, luncheons, community dinners, films, comedy nights, poetry slams, mural tours, a variety of children activities including Kingston High School and so much more.

We would like to also acknowledge the support of

The City of Kingston & Mayor Steve Noble

and The County & Ulster County Executive Mike Hein.
